Questionnaire: last call

Dear All,

I am writing a long paper on the patenting and evaluation of nanotech innovations with a specific focus on medical applications.

If you are interested in filling in the questionnaire, please go to:

The second part of the questionnaire is fundamental (i.e. question 10) as it is where I get your authorization to use your answers.

Thanks much!

Nanotech European call from the FPVII

Hi All,

Just few lines to sound out whether there could be someone in Europe willing to join me. I'm planning to participate to an FPVII call on nanotech and its commercialization.

The title is the following: NMP-2009-1.2-5 Best practices to lower the barriers for commercialization of nanotechnology research. The deadline is March 31st, 2009.

Hope to hear from someone interested in the topic.

Nanomedicine questionnaire

Trying to get as much information as I can for my PhD thesis, I have drafted a questionnaire that will be sent to many stakeholders. All answers will be cited by quoting the relevant individual.

I thank in advance all those who will be willing to fill it in and send it to my email account at lucaescoffier @ hotmail.com.

Should you have any queries or suggestion, please feel free to contact me.

Please, send me an e-mail to have a copy of the questionnaire.

Transatlantic approach

I would just like to be a bit more specific by saying that my research is carried out through a transatlantic approach. In fact, I am particularly interested in the European and U.S. developments in this sector even though I am well aware of the great contribution made by other countries as well.

By the way, the next meeting of the European Technology Platform on nanomedicine is approaching and it will be surely the right place to address specific issues such as the patentability and commercialization of future innovations in this field. I will try to catch some info and make some comments on that.

November is also approaching and we will probably see some calls within the FPVII for supporting actions on nanotechnology. Who knows, maybe one could address the commercialization of inventions in the field of nanomedicine...I will keep you posted of course!

Here I am

I decided to share some ideas about the fascinating worlds of nanomedicine and intellectual property which are going to face many challenges in the upcoming years.

I am interested in nanotechnology and its regulation in general, but I am focusing my studies on nanomedicine, therefore I would like to concentrate just on this issue for the time being.

I will start very soon my "quest for the truth" and I hope that many people will join this blog and play an active role.

Talk soon then!
